The buildings at the junction of the Old High Street and Tontine Street form a gateway to Folkestone’s thriving creative quarter, but the age and condition of the terraced properties meant they needed careful structural treatment as well as stunning design. GAL created a striking, unified building that has a contemporary feel but blends sympathetically with the Conservation Area. The building houses a ground floor restaurant with artists’ studios on the first floor and apartments on the second.
